Atlas is Shrugging and He May be Canadian
Thomas M. Miovas, Jr.
There is a two part article written by Diane Alden that speaks about
western Canadian's getting fed up with the high taxes and eastern control
imposed by the federal government of Canada.
Part I begins by talking about the rift between those Americans who want
the US Constitution to be upheld re-affirming the original intent of
individual rights, versus those who want to impose greater and greater
collectivism and international chains on the country; and part two makes
the tie-in with the separatism movement evidently going on in western
Canada. I don't know anything else about this movement, but it is
interesting to note that Diane used a reference in the title to Atlas
Shrugged without the need to say anything about that novel in the text of
her articles.
