War News
Thomas M. Miovas, Jr.
For those of concerned about the supply lines issue in the Iraqi war,
the Fox News Channel web site dedicated to news about the war
includes a story about how there needs to be a four to six day pause
in the northward advance of the troops because of supply
difficulties.

Also, in one of the Fox News Channel bottom of the screen ticker
tape type of news announcements it was reported that Vladimir
Putin, the President of Russia, thinks that the US lead coalition of
the war with Iraq is the biggest disaster since the end of the Cold
War. I haven't been able to find a full news story on the web
containing these remarks, which are a bit ambiguous as stated. Does
he mean that the end of the Cold War was a disaster, as it was for
the Soviet Union, and that the United States taking a strong stance
against dictators will lead to a similar event--i.e. their collapse; or
is he simply using the end of the Cold War as a reference period of
time for recent history?
And leading democrats are now beginning to express concern that
the new foreign policy of the United States may be to overthrow
dictators that the US government thinks may be a threat to its
national security.
As far as I am concerned, each of these stories is a measure of the
*success* of the current war campaign.
