Will Ye page 4
Nothing happened. Nobody came out. It was very quiet and eerie. Leaping in front of the entrance, he held his stance firmly with his strong legs, his shield at the ready and his sword lifted high, while saying: "I am Sourjack McFearsome and I've come to get the treasure! Stand aside, oh evil ones, for I am here to take what is rightfully mine!" There wasn't a peep in reply. The enemy must be hunkered down, keeping their nerves at bay, ready to strike at a moment's notice if he dared to enter the cave. Very well, he thought. They won't engage in battle until I pass their threshold. He went inside, stepping as stealthily as he could, going deeper and deeper into that chasm -- reminding himself to stay tense and at the ready. When all of a sudden he found himself running for the entrance just as fast as he could in fear for his very life. A cute little fairy girl had popped up right in front of him, saying: "Hi, I'm Smilerina!" Hiding behind that large rock outside the cave entrance once again, Sourjack tried to catch his breath. If his heart wasn't pounding so loudly in his chest, he might even begin to think that it was amusing that he had been startled by a fairy girl with the name of Smilerina. In a short amount of time, he pulled himself together. It was quite silly, wasn't it, he thought to himself. Going back to the entryway, he found Smilerina leaning up against the wall in a very seductive pose, with her wings fluttering slightly to further get his attention.
