Where Ideas Are Brought Down to Earth!

Writings based on Objectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand

Ayn Rand's most popular novels are Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead which present her philosophy, Objectivism, in vivid characterizations. Metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, esthetics, and  politics are the five main branches of philosophy that she identifies. Utilizing her methodology, one can be rational about all aspects of life. These essays present my understanding of Objectivism.

When he had dug up the entire floor of the cave -- finding only solid rock beneath the soil -- he became quite exasperated.

"Can you give me another clue?"

"Will ye mortals never learn!"

Sourjack held his hands out to her, showing that they were bleeding and bruised. "Now look here," he said, "it’s not that I mind getting cuts here and there in the pursuit of a treasure, but if there isn’t one here, could you save me the effort and tell me so?"

Tending mushrooms was certainly much easier and much less hazardous!

"It had better be a good treasure to be worth all of this!" he yelled at her.

"Will ye mortals never learn!"

"Is that all you can say?"

"Will ye mortals never learn!"

Sourjack sighed.

Maybe he wasn’t at the right place, he wondered, as he took out the evil note and read it carefully.

Well, there was no doubt about it. The treasure was in the cave of Mount Doom, at least according to the map.

But then he noticed something that had escaped his attention. Down in the lower right hand corner was a signature of sorts, a teeny tiny rendition of a smiling face.
